To be fair, if rumours are to be believed, Moyes actually looked at signing Dzeko, Moutinho, Hazard, to name at least 3 players, this was before they all got their big money moves, I know Moutinho hasnt moved for big money yet, but Spurs had a 22m bid accepted.

Moist moved for all these players, but simply couldnt raise the extra 1m or so to sign them.

Its wrong to suggest he couldnt operate with money.

His talent lies with being able to identify talent and potential.

I'm not saying he'd automaticaly buy a load of crap if he had big money to spend, but the inference that because he's spent well shopping in charity shops doesn't certainly mean that he'd spend well shopping in Harrods.

Maybe he would, i don't know, no one does, but i don't think its as simple as assuming he would.

If he'd had £15 million a season to spend there's every chance he wouldn't have signed some of the bargian basement buys that he did, the ones who define his skill in the transfer market.

Sure, like the players you mentioned he'd be looking at totally different players from the ones hes signed before, its 1 thing signing a Man U reject for £500,000 and making him a pivotal part of your team for Everton, but if he signed Moutinho for £22 million for Man U and he flopped he'd get a lot more stick and pressure off the board than he would here if Gibson flopped.

Its all hypothetical i know but like i said, the main point really is that its not a given that if he had significant money to buy he'd spend it as well as he did with little money because he'd be buying different players with different expectations.

I wasnt really putting it towards the United arguement as such really.

I personally dont think they would move for him, in the past, I thought he had a chance, but my view on this has changed.

But I do agree with what your saying.

I just feel he can spot talent, thankfully, with Everton, he spots talent and turns into pennys, but as you say, the players he bought would have much different values and a hell of a lot more critical eyes.

Can you imagine Scholes and Giggs as manager? Giggs maybe, but Scholes? Not really imo. But Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is doing great with Molde in Norway and he coached their 2nd team or their youth team before, maybe he could be an option.

very good point, won the title last year
