My Grandad saw him play a few times for Madrid, he watched madrid when he lived there between 57 and 60. Said that Puskas and Di Stefano were amazing. But he also saw Charlton, Law and Best at Man Utd in the mid 60's and said that Charlton was the best he had ever seen.

That Hungarian team. The Magyars. Must have been the best never to have won the world Cup. Think that was Puskas,s time. Does anyone know if there was any jiggery pokery in the final.

It would probably be them or the 82 Brazil team.

There were questions about 2 goals. Germany's second (which stood) and Hungary's 3rd (which obviously didn't stand) and the pitch was horrendous due to the weather.

It was played in the Wankdorf Stadium. Other than that nah, I think by all accounts the Hungarians bottled it.

3:2 to West Germany. It was 1:2 after 10 minutes. Maybe the Hungarians ran themselves into the ground too quick.

Saw Puskas play 'live' but only on TV. He was one of the greats but doesn't appear to get the accolades that some get. He had some very good players alongside him in the Hungary team. It was a freak of nature that they were all there at the same time. (mid 1950's)
