Is the ongoing contract speculation starting to get to Fellaini's head?

After a so-so first half seemed like his attitude and his game began seriously deteriorating. The return of the those clumsy and unnecessary fouls and shoulder shrugs a plenty.

Hoping it gets sorted soon so his head can too.

I watched the game and I think this is just nonsense.

He was frustrated but I think it was with our poor performance and the ref being harsh on him.

As someone else pointed out he celebrated like a mad man when scored afterwards.

I'd say this was one of the main reasons, he was probably annoyed with his own performance and the lack of movement from the rest of the team when he had the ball.

I touched on that yesterday. Someone moaned how him and Rodwell were passing it back to the defenders, but there was nothing on. The people in front were static! That must be frustrating to be honest, when you're searching for a winner.

To be fair he seemed neat and tidy untill he slipped and gave away possession on the half way line early on the 1st half and his head seemed to drop from there.

Also the ref was ****e.

TBF, if you were a quality player like Fellaini you'd have a bemused look on your face all the time out there on the pitch. I remember last season when he put an inch perfect pass into the path of Beckford and Beckford stopped running and turned on Fellaini. The big feller's face was comical: "I'm a footballer, get me out of here" sort of look. Lol.

Cool.. well i hope not too.

Personally I'd be gutted to see him go. Since Arteta's departure his presence and ability are needed more than ever.

The shrugs were his way of saying 'what do you want me to do?' Fellaini is not a player like Saha,Barkley,Drenthe or even the departed Pienaar. He does not have it in him to take a player on so he is relliant on movement ahead of him. There was little of it in the second half so he had to pass backwards. The reason for less movement in the second half was Wigans tactic of passing the ball at the back meaning our players pressed very hard and ran out of puff. Not a great day for Fellaini but not the worst by anymeans and remember he said himself that he will not be fit until October time.

Craig Bellamy would disagree with you there.

That was a marvellous piece of skill but it was not what I would call taking someone on. Bellamy was running at full steam Fellaini got to the ball first with a little skill.

I just think Felli had a bad day at the office yesterday, against Villa he was solid but lets not forget, he missed alot of pre-season with injury and he's not fully fit i would imagine so he will be up and down at the moment, once he gets a couple more games under his belt im sure he'll be fine.
