It will be interesting to hear what Moyes has to say at the United press conference to unveil Fellaini today. Hopefully the press will have the balls to ask why they waited until after the set release clause in his Everton contract expired to make their first bid. Surely the is no answer to that question that can be spun in United's favour.

1. He was way down our list of targets and we only made a move after being snubbed by our top choices.

2. We thought Everton would cave and sell him for less. They didn't and it cost us £4m extra.

3. We were trying to be as disruptive as possible to mess up Everton's start to the season and preserve Moyes' legacy.

I can't think of any other explanations other than the three above... I expect the United PR team will ban the question.

moyes will be coached on non-committal answers, never as interesting as you think its gonna be..unless he loses his temper and goes off message

Unfortunately we did it with Lescott and we did it with Arteta and now we will do it with Felli - we just can't let go.

We should really be on here stating that we can't wait to see what the new additions are going to do tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!

Its right... Moyes isn't our manager and Fellaini isn't our player but the 'deal' is still very relevant to us. I suspect this forum will be obsessed with the 'Fellaini money' for many transfer windows to come. It is for this reason I will be interested to hear what, if anything, is said today. United have already tried one PR spin and claimed Fellaini personally waved £4m to push the deal over the line... they are desperate not to be seen as having been mugged off by us. The fee is also important because it clearly impacts on our supporters perception of Kenwright... sell for less than the release clause and he's viewed as a soft touch, sell for considerably more and he's seen as a tough negotiator.
