good point, although he was hardly running for the rest of the game so it may have been genuine.

Admittedly only watching the game on TV, but we kept saying what was up with a lot of our players - they looked drained and slow for much of the game. Was at the Sunderland game where we zipped the ball around but seemed lacklustre at Wembley. Was the pitch left long for some reason due to there being two games in two days (although not an excuse for Distin!) - both teams seemed to struggle to get the ball moving around at pace along the turf?

Liverpool had their tails up at that point. Think he was just giving us time to calm everything down and halt the pressure.

ffs we came out in the 2nd half trying to defend a one goal lead after play well in the first half.played right into their hands imo.
distans crazy pass was the turning point but for me the sideline got it wrong at half time.

I can see why many would question why a professional footballer is getting cramp after 60 mins of football, however the adrenaline that you get from these big occasion matches often play their part too... It's not that un-common!

Fitness at EFC

The players fitness levels have dropped dramatically in recent seasons. Not long ago when we were playing good football and running teams off the park you could guarantee it would get mentioned on match of the day "the better level of fitness of the Everton players" until one thing happened, the simple thing that was Alan Irvine leaving. Steve Round came in the fray and in moy own opinion the level of fitness has dropped considerably, I am not convinced that when Felli went down he was pretending to have cramp, he fell on his leg awkwardly and reacted to the signs of cramp.

Alan Irvine is back at the club, get rid of Round at least and Alan back in. As for Baines I am unsure what his injury was but it raises no concerns because I would send him on holiday now until next season along with players such as Cahill, Jagielka, Neville, and a few others and give the kids a chance for the rest of the season. I am not interested in the slightest about us trying to get into europe yes I want us to win every game. But getting into Europe would cause more harm than good when we are barely fit enough and have the quality and the players to cope with the league and cups as it is.

He covers the most ground of any of our players, it's not a huge surprise. Can't believe there is a thread about this. When is an acceptable time to get cramp ffs?

he went for a ball in our box and took a kick on his calf. It may have tightened. One of the big factors in us losing yesteray for me that. We lost shape and drive when he couldnt run
