What you should do is buy one of the fake Liverpool shirts online for 8 quid, write TORRES 9 on it in black marker pen and give it to her for Christmas. Then as she unwraps and unfolds it, pull out a lighter and set it on fire.

My dad is a big Rangers fan (I'm Scottish) and until I was about 14 I followed in the family tradition. I decided I liked Celtic around that time but didn't tell him because I knew what his reaction would be. That year when I was on holiday in Spain I went into town with my gran, who was on holiday with us as well, and bought a Celtic top from one of the football shirt stalls. Upon trying it on, my dad and younger brother (also a Rangers fan) appeared from round a corner with bags from the supermarket. I freezed with panic and they both looked at me, stunned. The look of sheer hurt and then anger on my dad's face is something I'll never forget. He just said 'f'cking hell son..' and walked off with my brother, totally ignoring my gran. Then I got upset because I knew I'd upset my dad, but I'll never know exactly how it made him feel. He didn't speak to me for two days of the holiday after that, lol. After that I kind of went off Celtic and eventually when I started going to watch football regularly it was Rangers I went to see with my mates, but now I've realised that the old firm are a cancer on football up here so I follow my local side, Ayr United. (y)

Mixed families are very rare up here, but the old firm rivalry is a lot more bitter and also there's all the religious and political crap that goes along with it.

My dad claims to have had best mates for years who support Celtic but usually if he finds out someone is a tim he immediately treats them with suspicion, even if they don't really like football but just prefer Celtic to Rangers. Doesn't make any difference to me though.

I was going to say don't worry, the distance between Liverpool and Norway is great and long distance relationships never last.

My daughter has announced she has a new boyfriend.....So my reponse was ok....and the usual questions of age etc....Then the bombshell...He is a RED!!!!:@:@:@

Not at all, I'm going through the very same thing, keep picking on the FSW, rip the crap out of everything he says...................then start converting him, if that doesn't work tell he to F--- Off. In my case he has offered to take me to GP, he can get tickets from work.......................I just might put off conversion for a while :D
