Federico Macheda

Bit of a difference between the Italian and Portuguese lower leagues though, no?

Portuguese top flight mate.

And yes, but it's not as big as it was. You just need to see that 3 of the 4 Europa league semi-finalists were from the Portuguese top flight.

Everyone saying Macheda is great has probably just seen him in those two games he scored important goals for United. I know a few United fans myself and they don't rate him. That said, their standards are obviously higher than ours.

All I'm saying here is that Macheda is not really better than our own youngsters. And we don't play them. It's a stupid rumour.

Also, Sampdoria, who he played for last year, got relegated. He jinxed it, the ****er!

Offloading Cassano and Pazzini mid-season might have had something to do with it as well. I'm still gutted, about the same time I started following Everton I found Sampdoria with Mancini and Sven. My boyhood clubs, differing fates. I hope they make a quick bounce up again. They followed up a CL qualifying loss to Bremen with tumbling out of the Serie A in the same season..

Sell Yakubu, loan (to buy?) Macheda. I love it. Macheda has shown real class and I'd love to see him fill out our squad and get some real young blood pushing Saha and Beckford for their seats.

We would have a class veteran striker in Saha who is great but injury prone.
In Beckford we have a 15 goal a year scorer who is large and if he learns to give consistent effort will serve the club well.
To help balance them out, we have two potential SUPERSTARS in Macheda and Vellios. Between Saha's injuries, Moyes getting frustrated with Beckford (or just needing a change midgame), and the momentary flirtations with a 4-4-2, there will be plenty of minutes to get all 4 some good time on the pitch.

This is assuming Macheda and Vellios are picked before Anichebe though (dream world, I know).

Seen him a fair few times, he is a very capable player and a little further along than our youngsters to be fair. He would be a fine addition as he's technically talented and can score goals from various areas like Saha. There would be no shame in having him for a season.

If Ferguson wants to blood Macheda in the Prem we would be a good choice. Italy is not the Prem and Macheda needs to be playing so that Fergusoin can figure out what he wants to do with him. I also think Macheda would be a good addition to our roster. I see this as a win/win for us.
