10yrs after forming they've build a new stadium, are 2 promotions away from the football league and have Benfica coming over to play when they open their new stadium, not bad for a couple of guys who dreamt up the who concept over a pint.
Can someone explain what happens if hypothetically they continued to move up through the leagues and had to pay big transfer fees, wages, negotiate TV deals etc - surely they would end up becoming the very thing that they walked away from. It's in no way a criticism as I think what they have done is brilliant, but how do they stop themselves having to put their noses in the trough with everyone else, principles don't balance the books ?.
Like Barcelona to an extent. Football is an insatiable mistress and few clubs can succeed whilst maintaining principles that other clubs are all too happy to break (sadly).
Just wondering what it would take our board to do to so p155 off our fan base that Evertonians chose to go the FC Utd route ?
The Glazers certainly polarised the Manure support, but could BK & co wind us up to that extent?
