FC United get all salty on the BBC

Nothing but a charade from FC United. Presumably, it was a crap offer from the BBC. Despite their stance, they have previously allowed an FA cup tie to be moved to a Friday evening so that ESPN could cover it.

"In November 2010, FC United were drawn to play Rochdale in the 1st round of the FA Cup and ESPN requested our game be shown live on their channel on a Friday evening. The switch was not enforced by the broadcaster and the club had a choice. The Board reached the decision that it was in members' best interests to accept the offer from ESPN." http://www.fc-utd.co.uk/m_fcandtv.php

So basically, if the offer of TV money is too good to turn down, then they won't.

Mistakes happen and board members change. It's a typical day in the life of a fan owned football club, though at least you can get rid of the people on the board if you don't like the job they're doing.

I agree that they should have withdrawn from the competition. As it is we can only hope that their fans let their feelings known and it causes BT a lot of embarrassment.

Hopefully the TV money will be donated to local charities and to be fair to them both teams have agreed to a discount on the price of tickets - minium price for an FA Cup game is £10. (FA policy)

Another example of the match-going fan being inconvenienced is being shown right now. Leeds vs Blackburn ffs.
