Jamo Martinez

Player Valuation: £70m
I was going to title it 'Best' unfashionable team. However Unfashionable is open to interpetation any how so Best would cause too much debate.

Celta De Vigo, late 90s early noughties. Mazinho (Barça's Thiago Alcantara's dad), Karpin, Revivo and the awsome Alexandre Mostovoi.
They were playing some of the best footie around in that period. Think they gave the rs a beasting in the Uefa cup

Been plenty of other examples. Who are your fave unfashionable teams?

How could I forget Makelele

real madrid

Always follow York's results - must be cos it's a cracking place to have a day/night out!
Abroad I have always followed Athletic Bilbao as they insist on only having Basque players and I find that really unusual but refreshing in this era of money mad mercenaries!

I obviously expressed myself badly.

The idea is that you name a team and a period or a season. Not just a team you've got a soft spot for. I don't really care what happens the Celta

eg The coventry team that beat Spurs in the 87 cup final.

Real Socieda 02-03. Nihat and Kovacevic up front with Xabi Alonso behind so nearly brought the title home for them. Really disliked Alonso for moving to Liverpool after that!

Deportivo were boss to watch from about 2000-2005, and I was a big fan of Roy Makaay, Valeron and Tristan a bit later.

I suppose I just liked it when teams could challenge a league's elite...

Good shout. You do realise that Valeri Karpin is the common denominator in our two first choices.

That 'Super Depor' team used to beast Real Madrid on the regs. Great stuff. Valeron is still going
