He leant so much to the sound of the band that it stopped them from being a run-of-the-mill punk group.
Great songwriter, great guitarist and always wore a decent jacket or 2!

lost in the supermarket is a great shout, but my fave's from the same album...hateful for me please

I know my jam better than me clash like but sandinista seems to be a very underrated album too though no ?

Guns of Brixton or Bankrobber, love Johnny Appleseed from Joe Strummer's later years. Got to be in the top five bands of all time, it's a shames that when someone mentions punk rock most people think sex pistols rather than the clash

Rock the Casbah was just on the radio on my way back from the store.

Song still well and truly holds up. Great piece of music. So for me it's either London Calling or Casbah.
