I actually like how the light from the sabre cuts out sometimes during fights...it adds a feeling of realism, as if the battery's running low on them things. I also prefer the more real movements of the protagonists. The newer trilogy's fights just look like cartoons.

Also, the fights in the first trilogy carried a lot more emotional weight: Ben allowing himself to be obliterated, Luke losing his hand as he discovers who his father is, Vader looking at the Emperor and at Luke and finally deciding to do the right thing after being beaten in an epicly aggressive lightsabre battle.

My problem with them is, Vader is supposed to be a saber master. I could have taken him FFS!!!
 

I watched the British version, Dylan. It had Alec Guinness and Peter Cushing in it. And Vader was voiced by the Green Cross Code man.

So????

Lucas named them lightsabers. I have always know a traditional sabre as sabre, not saber. But in the world Star Wars they are sabers.
