Allardyce rang co-chairman David Sullivan on Thursday after reports emerged suggesting he faced the sack after the team's final game of the season at Manchester City on Sunday.

Hammers fans have regularly vented their frustration over the club's style of football under Allardyce and Sullivan apologised for the campaign at the club's end-of-season awards dinner on Tuesday night.

Allardyce is due to meet Sullivan next week but the Hammers boss does not believe his position will be on the agenda.

"I rang him up and spoke to him about what's been planted around and under those circumstances we just talked about getting together and having our meeting next week," Allardyce said.

"The only thing I can say is I spoke to David Sullivan yesterday about us arranging our usual end-of-the-season meeting to go through pre-season and go through budgets and what will happen next season.

"I had no indication that my position is under threat. That's all I know, he's the boss and that's the bottom line for me."

Allardyce added: "People in the game have to write speculation because they have to sell newspapers.

"Whether that speculation becomes a reality we don't know but I will find out next week if it is."

Moyes to take over?

Thing is though what do West Ham really expect?!

They're never going to get any higher than they are now you'd think.

Yeah the football isn't too great, but it's West Ham. Not bloody Real Madrid.

I get the impression that West Ham fans probably aren't that arsed about their results as they know how good they are in comparison to the rest of the league. They just want to watch good football as is their tradition.

They will never get that under Sam.

My West Ham supporting mate hopes they get annihilated on Sunday so Big Sam gets the sack.

He keeps banging on about the 'West Ham way' not really sure what that is but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with Bobby Moore stealing gold watches at Mexico '70. Possibly.

The main motive for West Ham is the Merit Table..potentially dropping down to 15th or 16th.. but I suspect they know they will lose and will be relying on Villa failing to win at Spurs and Hull beating Everton (one of Swansea/Sunderland will pass them if they lose). So a draw could be worth about £3M to the club.

12 West Ham 37 -9 40
13 Swansea 37 -2 39
14 Sunder 37 -17 38
15 Villa 37 -19 38
16 Hull 37 -13 37

@whufc_official: "We know we're in the Barclays Premier League next year, let's go and try to spoil Manchester City's party."

Don't you dare ffs.

How far away are West Ham from moving into the Olympic Stadium? It's a big thing and a bigger stadium. They'll cash the Boleyn in, and increase turnover in a stadium thats cost them nowt. Its a significant increase to spending and fan base power.

2016 season I think ...
I would bet on MacKay to succeed "big" Sam

There are a few managers that'll have eyes on them when they up sticks, first up H.Redknapp.
