Fans applauding Drenthe off the pitch

His pen last season at their place was in my mind tbh, and how long he had to wait as they were on about Messi missing 1 on the radio, saying he waited 2 mins to take it which had to have made a difference. As soon as I saw Cech coming on I said "oh **** the replacement is the better keeper." Was Stracq on then ? he takes them like an rpg goin off.

I agree totally it was just frustrating that it all seems to be about those 2. As a move forwarded I also think that the game shouldn't be stopped whilst the make a substitution goalkeeper they wouldn't do it for any other player. Keeper should take his shirt off and give it to another player whilst the keeper gets ready.

I think we are going to have to accept that he might go over the top at times. I think "thebluefox" even mentioned the potential for the odd red card when he first saw him playing. The positives massively outweigh the negatives though. He's explosive, creative and intelligent, and can play on either wing to a good standard. Probably through the middle aswell. His strength and ability to shield the ball has impressed me most. He can hold off opposition players with his back to them and keep the ball under control, or beat them on the turn. Not really a skill you associate with a player like Drenthe, but something we really need with players like Arteta, Pienaar and Yakubu leaving. Good technique too, he can't half ping a ball.
