It has always been the place for the technologically advanced to glorify in the trophy of their enemies running blood. A great deal of the GREAT British history is founded upon the machine gun and the thin red line.
Chlorine and Mustard gas was out of order.
The execution of everything under big boy and small boy was a travesty.
That the entire Western culture turned its back on the holocaust is another nail in the coffin of western politics.
That parts of former Soviet Russia are allowed to be inhabitted though are deadly regions is another chapter in capitalist stupidity and hypocrisy.

There is no room for those that have, if there is no lea way for those that have nothing.

Enough for everyones need, not for everyones greed.

Chemical warfare was pioneered by the Germans (F. Haber the nobel prize winning chemist being principally behind it's introduction)

As was the Clausewitz model of "total war".

Its easy to point fingers about "GREAT british history". When that was an era of survival of the fittest, when the very survival of Britain was at stake.

Since the English channel being nothing more than 20 miles of water, compared to the 1000's of miles of water separating the USA to potential hostile invaders...

I don't think its appropriate for you to sit in judgement of "British history"

Equally, comparing governments the USA has installed abroad. They've typically resulted in far greater representation/democracy abroad than existed before.

Japan, Germany, Taiwan, Kosovo and Serbia.

But hey. Lets just bash western civillisation and feel bad about ourselves.

Not as simple as that, Columbia, Panama, Peru, and Cuba. Lets not forget the Czech republic and the Russian outrage at missile silos on their doorstep.

History has always been written by the winners.

And as Nazi Germany, or the Soviet Union show, you've generally got to be a pretty benign power to be a victor... in the long term.

Because wasting resources on internal dissent usually eventually undermines powers.

China is a good illustration of this. The power of self determination introduced from America... through commerce.

Britain was pioneering this far before the USA or continental America was even discovered, however.

Magna Carter anyone?

Oh and missile silos in the Czech republic. Defensive not offensive, and that can be overwhelmed by a blanket attack...

The fact these are in the EU. Eastern Europe is no longer Russia's sphere of influence. Its the EU's.

Magna Carta - but whatever.
You lost me at benign power to be victor. there are few if any of them. Tibet maybe.
As for freedom of speech, its a little too close to the bone.
