Just looking at my 1995 F.A.Cup Final programme! One of my favourite players. Lived in Wigan for 32 years and go to Wigan games. Intrigued with his involvement with Wigan and also his son? They are sat behind me in the Directors Box, together with Peter Reid (another of my favourite players).

....in the 60s and 70s my folks were ‘on the committee’ at Everton Supporters Club on City Road. As a youngster it was where we went before and after games, so I knew the place well myself.

I recall a resident band on stage and my folks telling me that one of them was Joe Royle’s Dad. Can you ask Joe;

Was your Dad part of the resident band at Everton Supporters Club and if so, what instrument did he play?
I believe his dad played the organ mate. As funnily enough someone mentioned that me other week we will ask him about it

...nice, though, that his Dad had that connection with the Supporters Club. Joe Royle came from a generation where a players loyalty to a club was deep rooted. Sadly, a dying trait.
Spot on Mate. Will use that quote when we speak to him and give you full credit for it obviously

What does he make of the Sigurdson conundrum?

As it stands, would Joe:
1) Build a team/system around him
2) Drop him

....be nice to know, but Joe’s a gentleman and I can’t see him being the type to criticise an Everton player or Manager. I recall having a chat with Howard Kendall about 10 years ago, and those blokes come from a generation with values and he was also reluctant to criticise.

Not asking him to criticise, just his opinion on how he'd handle the situation himself.

I don't need anyone to tell me Silva is a clown and Siggy is a waste of space lol

I used to have a chat with Brian Labone, he would never ever criticise an Everton player, never, I was having a go,at an Everton centre half after one game, he wouldn’t budge, I said ‘ Come on Brian you were a centre half yourself, you can’t defend that performance, just smiled, he knew I was right, he wasn’t thick, but he wouldn’t agree.
