Terrible news this, i was hoping he could bounce back but life's harsh, i hope he finds employment that can still have him involved with the sport. Maybe coaching or something along them lines.

He's got a job for life at Bolton, Coyle said he'd make sure of that, so at least he is still involved somehow

Was thinking Bolton would have to do right by him and offer him some sort of role , sad news that the lad has to stop playing , but no doubt he realises how lucky he is all the same .

Gutted for him, but glad he'll be okay.

Plus, he's been a professional for about 6-7 years. Providing he had support and guidance, he must be a millionaire by now. Still lots he could do in his life. Good luck sir.

I was thinking this, cynical as it is.

That said at Bolton as someone relatively young, I doubt he's made too much of a living. In terms of long term sustainability.

Plus he'll be so heavily invested in football he won't have a clue what to do now. Hopefully he can get involved in another side of the game.

Two very good points there. I suppose having to retire early through health is something you know could always happen but hope it won't and sometimes therefore not plan for it. I hope his football knowledge and experience can work to his advantage in a future career.

Is there a support network for ex-players in place now?

Chances are he will always be able to find a job in the game because of what happened, which is obviously a good thing for the guy.

Watched the documentary on him tonight on sky plus.

Just seems such a nice guy, 78 minutes his heart stopped. 78 minutes. Absolute testament to the medical team that worked on him including the guy in the crowd who also assisted. Their decisions saved his life no doubt.

Very moving when he went back to White Hart Lane and was announced to the crowd.

Meant to watch that.

Will definitely catch it now you said it's good.

Can you imagine how he will feel if he ever plays again?
