A new season begins tomorrow at Finch Farm for the visit of West Bromwich Albion with an 11am kick off, then travel to East London to play West Ham United at Little Heath in Romford 7 days later.
This will another exciting era as a new batch of scholars combined with the first year scholars from last season that make up the U18’s squad for 2012/13 and for me personally I am looking forward to it very much.
Everton youngsters travelled with the seniors and reserves to picturesque Obertraun (Austria) for pre season training with some sight seeing sandwiched in between then arranged a game with German side 1860 Munich and which resulted in a 4-1 thrashing before returning back to the UK.
On their return to England the rest of the pre season went pretty well for the youngsters beating Leicester City 3-2, West Ham United 1-0. Academica (Portugal) 3-0 at Finch Farm and a 1-1 draw at Burscough.
Last weekend was the final preparation as the visitors Wigan Athletic fought it out with the host’s to turn a goal less 45 minutes into a six goal thriller.
There are some exciting players in this batch of youngsters which a few of you are familiar with. Harry Charsley who is normally part of the U16’s could be involved after a very good goal scoring spree in pre season, maybe one to watch this year.
