Probably between £100 and £200. A niece of mine used a company called Data wreck when her laptop with all her university work on it crashed, they got all the data back...

Okay, ta. Looking, it seems I have about 90 gigs of music on my Mac so I might spew recovering the stuff on my external. Will have to take stock.

If you get someone who knows what they're doing you wouldn't be paying more than $200 (100 quid) at the very most, I don't know how expensive your part of the world is though.

RIP Clint's music collection.

In all seriousness I have lost my entire digital collection at least twice in my life and a kick in the balls would be more pleasant. Here's a suggestion for next time. Carbonite. www.carbonite.com. I use it and an external hard drive now.

I've lost mine a few times through HDD failure but luckily all my music has always been on my iPod so i've just extracted it back to my PC.
