An ex-Premier League academy footballer has admitted killing a teenager he had a relationship with.

Andrew Hall, released from Stoke City Academy at the end of last season, pleaded guilty to murdering Megan-Leigh Peat, 15, at a house in Ampthill, Bedfordshire.

The 18-year-old from Flitwick pleaded guilty to murder at Luton Crown Court.

Ms Peat, of Westoning, was found stabbed at the house in Ailesbury Road on 9 June.

Hall admitted stabbing Ms Peat multiple times in the head and body at the house which belongs to a mutual friend.

She died at about 01:30 BST from her injuries and severe blood loss after being treated by emergency services.
Horrific injuries

Hall, who suffered injuries to his hands, was at the end of a three-year scholarship at Stoke City academy.

The court heard the midfield player was on the brink of signing as a professional with a future in the club's development side.

He had returned home to Robin Close in Flitton and had spent the evening at nearby pubs with Ms Peat, a pupil at Harlington Upper School in Dunstable.

Ms Peat was described as a caring girl who looked after her friends but also enjoyed her social life.

Luton Crown Court heard that she was subjected to an horrific attack.

Hall spent several days in hospital being treated for hand and arm wounds after the killing.

Well I know stoke have a reputation of being a thug team...but this is going a little overboard......

But seriously must be some quite ****ed up things happening between the two.
 
Unbelievable how far someone can take things

So it wasn't as if he had been released from Stoke or anything just stabbed her in the head a few times over something stupid probably, unstable relationship that must have been.

According to a swedish paper he stabbed her 60 times with two different knives.
 

Around my area. Live 10 mins from westoning. Knew her brother, and remember seeing her once when she was very young. Never seen the fella who did it before but flitwick is where I go gym so I'm sure I'm bound to know people who do know him. The horrible ****. Shocking case. RIP megan.

Saw in a norwegian newspaper he got lifetime sentence. Thumbs up to that. In norway he'd probably get 10 years or something..
 

That guy doesn't deserve the right to be rehabilitated into society in the future,strap the [Poor language removed] into an electric chair and be done with it, I'd even let them use my leccy.
 
Thing is though, and as much as this case is quite literally close to home, 18 years old is very young. What he's done is horrendous but maybe in 30 years time he'll be able to teach others about what he's done and the dangers of relationship obsession. I dunno.

I'd prefer it if he was doing that on the inside, teaching folk how to avoid Mr Big who seems to have an obsessive interest in their hoop.
