Good old Mark Halsey

Makes a mockery of the "independence" of the PGMOL

Be interesting to see if its brushed under the carpet.

Referee Mark Halsey seen during the pre-season friendly football match between Liverpool and Olympiakos at Anfield Stadium in Liverpool, northwest England on August 3, 2013. The game is a testimonial match for Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard who recently signed a new two-year contract extension with Liverpool, the only club he has ever played for. The debate about Sergio Aguero's three match ban has got a lot more interesting after comments from ex-Premier League referee Mark Halsey.

The Argentine striker was banned for three matches after an apparent elbow on West Ham's Winston Reid, but Man City are appealing because they claim that TV footage shows that referee Andre Marriner saw the incident and decided to do nothing.

Halsey, who retired from top flight refereeing in 2013, was speaking about the decision on Twitter, when he alleged that the PGMOL - the organising body for elite referees in England - told him to say he hadn't seen incidents that he had witnessed during a game.

Gary Neville was one of many who wished to know more about what Halsey had been told. It will be interesting to see how Monday Night Football tackle the topic next week, or if Sky bring up the subject during their international coverage over the next few days.

The worst thing is, most people know the games are corrupt and nothing is done about it.

The only fans who don't see it are the ones on the positive end of it. Talk to any kopite about things going in their favour and you will see what I mean

Hasn't Graham Poll come out yet to discredit Halsey?

Personally, I miss George Courtney
Mentioning Poll reminds me of when John Terry was sent off against Everton a few years ago, they had him in the studio for his opinions,Poll said he was shocked and surprised that the ref sent off the England and Chelsea captain,he said it was certainly a bad challenge but you have to take into account who the player is !!
