With our shortage of strikers at the moment, should youngsters such as Conor McAleny be given a chance in the first team?

Conor is badly injured isn't he?

But as to a general question, yes, youngsters should be given the chance, IF they prove they deserve it on loan with a good record, or at reserve level. There should be no automatic starters at Everton regardless of form, and that normally means our strikers.

He turns 22 before next season though. If he was going to make it in the Premiership then we would have seen more of him by now(Hope i'm wrong!).

Get him off the bench over the final few games and see what hes made of.

Same as the other players of similar potential.

Osman didn't really break through until he was 23. This should have been his year to shine in the lower leagues. If it wasn't for the leg break, I think he would have been pushing for a place in the 18 man squad next year.

If we get europa, hopefully he'll be one with the likes of Browning that will tried out with our more established bench warmers.

Yeah I agree that he shouldn't be played ahead of Lukaku and Naismith but it wouldn't do us any harm to have him on the bench for the last few games perhaps and give him a bit of game time. Hopefully we will get Europa and him and a few other youngsters like Browning can feature then

Stuart Barlow and Michael Branch were both prolific in the reserves.....

Can't help but think that this point is pertinent to a certain other thread - They were given plenty of chances and they didn't miraculously become prem standard players because they were given opportunities in the first team.

Maybe. But how do you know unless you give them a try?
