I think I was at a match at Goodison when Unsworth missed one, he smashed it against the bar and it was still shaking ages afterwards.. if my memory serves me.

Of what I've seen from 04-05 the best pen takers have been

1. Baines
2. Arteta
3. Neville

694. Yakubu

THE only players to score 10 or more penalties for Everton since the war have been:

David Unsworth 20 goals 23 attempts.

Trevor Steven 19 goals 21 attempts.

Roy Vernon Thomas Royston "Roy" Vernon (14 April 1937 - 1994) was a Welsh international footballer who played for Blackburn Rovers, Everton and Stoke City.

Vernon was born in Ffynnongroyw in Flintshire, Wales. He made his debut for Blackburn Rovers at the age of 18. attempts. T E Jones attempts. Joe Royle15 goals 1612 goals 1811 goals 15attempts. Graeme Sharp 10 goals 13 attempts.

Alan Ball attempts. 10 goals 15

Baines has scored 11 in the league, hasn't he?

Unsworth was my penalty hero growing up. I remember as a kid wanting to take pens like him, side footed with power.

My head says Baines but my heart will always see Unsworth taking them for us.

And hinchcliffe the corner taker.
