My first opening day as a proper Everton fan was a 4-0 thumping of Newcastle, with debut boy Tony Cottee firing in a hat trick.

Let's hope we can sign Mirallas and he can repeat the feat against Man Utd this Monday.

Utd have got problems with their defence right now with injuries. It was 4 all last time, so yeah I'm optimistic. Perfect 1st game IMO

We signed cottee for 2m and spurs bought gazza for 2m it the same summer! It was down hill from there really.

i'm glad to get the big boys out of the way before their team has properly settled, man utd have only bought kagawa as a 1st teamer so far so shouldn't make a difference, but i'm very happy with them.

also the 6-1 and 4-1's vs arsenal contributed much to our bad goal difference, as well as being shoite for the most part of the 90's.
