After the RS won a second successive away game by 4 goals today it got me wandering when the last time we really gave a team a spanking away from home.
To my amazement you have to go back 18 seasons to 99/2000 to find the last time we won by 4 goals on our travels (4-0 at West Ham). Remarkable really given you play 19 aways a season, 19x18 anybody ?
Laws of averages clearly don't apply where Everton are concerned.

So are you saying a 3-0 win or 3-1 or 2-0 away wins don't count and it has to be 4-0 to be classed as a spanking?

p.s I'm also assuming then that you've actually googled when did Everton last win 4-0 away to compare it against the rs yeah?

I smell something funny.

I have had a large roast dinner today though

No not saying they don't count but you expect a perennial top flight club to dish out the odd hammering away from home now and again, even Hull managed to win 5-0 at Fulham a few season's ago yet we never get past 3 for some reason.

But that's one team having a great result who are currently in the championship and whose away form without checking is probably utterly crap.

Would it be nice? Yeah sure it would but there is a reason why it doesn't happen and that's because against the top sides they pin us back and have a good go and we haven't got a side capable of webbing them and then the crap clubs know we are better than them so they sit back and even though we can win 1/2/3 we aren't good enough to turn anyone over by 5.

We are the team too good for about 10 sides in this league but not good enough for about 6 sides to give them a beating.

I just think we are too nice a club to want to embarras clubs on their own pitch.remember woeful Villa 2 years ago,we were 3-0 up at HT and took our foot off the gas and let them nick a consolation to finish 3-1, the RS stuffed them 6-0 there a few weeks before.
We have had decent sides in the last decade but they have never been ruthless.

But if the rs won there 6-0 a few weeks before maybe they tightened up a bit and that's all we could muster was a 3-1 away win. Your talking about the game where Niasse came on when Martinez was manager?

Why would you remember the rs beating them 6-0 from about 3/4 years ago and pick that game as an example of us being too nice?

Just an example, hopefully one day soon our fans will see a big away win instead of biting their finger nails as we hang on to a narrow lead with 10 men behind the ball.

Dear me,don't resort to the paranoia theory just because I analyse our poor away form. Can't stand them but they don't fear going anywhere unlike us.

But you weren't analysing our poor away form you were analysing us not winning an away game 4-0 so please keep up with your own thread you dozy tit. If we are talking about our away form it wouldn't be about not winning an away game for 18 seasons 4-0 and just so happen to pick certain games from the rs

I think you probably live closer to the north pole than you do Crocky as well ;)

"Spanking" is an interesting one to be honest. I and I'm sure many others thought Man City totally outclassed United last week but the final score was still only 2-1. Sometimes the scoreline doesn't reflect the performance and vice versa. Football innit.
