Evertonians In USA

Phoenix here. The Mexican leagues and La Liga seem to be bigger here than EPL compared to most big cities in the country. Watched Monday's game at a place called George and Dragon and there were a few Everton supporters there (the pub is owned by a die-hard United supporter).

Yeah, I have been to that pub a few times. We have another English style pub out here in Chandler which is prett nice but gets more use during midweek CL matches due to the local times in which they air.

Cool to see others from Arizona!

NYC toffee here, but started supporting the team whilst in Seattle, WA. I went with some friends (I've been bludgeoning all my sports buddies with Everton this, Everton that...I think they're catching on...) to Timmy's first game at Red Bull Arena a couple weeks ago. It was great seeing a few dozen other blues there. Having never been to Goodison, it was a blast learning some of my first Everton songs, as our section was in good spirits.

I would like to point out that there is such a massive population of interested but uncommitted sports fans here in the States that just need a gentle push in the right direction. This is such a massive market of potential supporters with no real allegiance. I get the sense from so many of my friends and acquaintances that they'd like to support an EPL club - they just don't know which one...

It'd be fantastic to take advantage of this vacuum. We may be a tad uneducated regarding the game and its traditions, but once turned, Americans can be rabid fans and supporters.

Question for the other NYC Blues: Is Mr. Dennehy's still our supporter's pub? I remember hearing something about a new venue last year around the time of the FA cup Semifinal...

You were always an Evertonian. You just didn't know it. Remember. Born not manufactured!

I was at Mr Dennehy's for the United game on Monday and we had about 10 Evertonians at the bar. Unless I hear otherwise I'll be looking to catch games there.

I love Roger Bennett. And Americans like soccer...who knew? :)

(Random Preki mention in an article, had to laugh at that).

Americans do like soccer but in small bite sized doses, Euros, world cup etc. It will never get that big here especially with the footie leagues having to compete with the NFL and college football from Sept-Feb. No one even cares about any other sports once american football is on the Tele.
