Seeing as Optus has gone and paid stupid money to take the epl Tv rights, and now we can't watch any epl without an $80 per month plan on a 24 month contract, I was wondering if there are any other Aussies on here, preferably in Melbourne, that would like to agree on a pub to view matches every weekend? Also, does anyone have any alternatives to Optus? From what I've gathered in oz the only way to watch epl is to get Onto a 24 month plan?

Last thing lads, what's the costs/hassles that would come with trying to get my hands on tickets to a home game this year? Dare I ask the derby?

I know it's illegal but if desperate you can always just stream the games like lots of people do.

Due to Australia's joke of a prime minister we now have Internet censorship, basically anything streamed for overseas that is breaking ownership laws gets blocked. I'm sure there is a way around it, but I'm hopeless with technology lol

So the only diff is now its $40 not $80? $40 a month, plus a Tv subscription and seperate box just to watch football? Surely there's an alternative? I usually only watch Everton games.... Too pissed off to care about any other games usually lol, hopefully times are changing

I'm in Melbourne mate, live up north but work cbd. I've got a few places in mind. Brother in law owns a pub in Essendon and stays open all weekend.

your Aussie too then I take it? Huge Everton fan base over here mate, went out in st kilda for the fa cup semi final, elephant and wheelbarrow, blue shirts galore, and a good half of them were actually Aussie lol

Mate it's not all over regarding Foxtel yet, they were talking about sharing the rights with Optus, message from them "Watch this space"
