Brendan Barber, ex-TUC General Secretary. Even the Torygraph calls him "the nice guy of trade unionism."

My wife used to work for a union and met Barber once. Dais he was lovely. I was annoyed that she hadn't let on that she was a Blue.

Funny how I in many ways disagree with the honours system (I'm a republican, for a start!) and yet I find myself feeling pleased for those people who I think "deserve" recognition.

Are you for or against the system?

I know it's 'only' New Zealand, but recently when the long skirted hairy legged lesbian were in charge ( and some might say they still are ) they scrapped the uk based honour system for a New Zealand order of merit ( or some such sh*te ) type pretenddie medal.

when it was reversed by the not so long skirted hairy legged lesbians, 95% of those thus awarded reverted to the uk title...the tribe has spoken.
