Not Robbie Savage's biggest fan but lately his articles are getting better and he's hit a few of the nails we've been discussing on the head. Also seems like he might frequent GOT sometimes too!

Which parts of the article do you think are good/bad?

I have to agree with a lot of it.

We are seriously low on confidence which is why the players have stopped taking risks with the ball, and instead look to just retain possession.

Watching the game on Tuesday, I was yelling at the screen for us to do things quicker. Whether it's passing, getting crosses in, or even shooting. We seem to take an age to do anything.

I do however have 100% confidence in Martinez the mere thought of playing anything like Moyes' teams fill me with dread. Even in the last season which was enjoyable under him, his instructions clearly consisted of:

Defend
Defend
Defend
In possession? Get the ball to Fellaini
Pass to Baines.
Baines to Pienaar
Back to Baines
Cross
Goal? If no then go to the beginning and start again.

It really was drivel. Martinez does however need to get this defence sorted. McCarthy and stones returning will help us I am sure.

Personally, Robbie Sav didn't say anything spectacular nor anything wrong in the article. Barry playing CB...Alcaraz...

"If you listen to Martinez, you would think that his side's run of one win in their last 10 games with no clean sheets is just down to bad luck". This is true though.

The only thing in the article that worried me - and that I wasn't aware of - is the unnerving similarity in the stats from his last Wigan season (relegation) to our current ones; namely goals conceded at this stage and individual errors.

I always want to say "we're too good to get relegated" but let's be fair, we've flitted around 17th before in the not so distant past and it's a possibility in this league. Do I think there are 3+ worse teams than us? Of course, but then again I thought Fulham were too good to go down.

I don't think we'll get relegated but I think if we did we'd lose Barkley, Stones, Jimmy Mac, Lukaku etc. and unravel everything we've built on lately. None of those want to play in the Championship when they don't have to.

No, I was suggesting that if he got something right in the article (which he did), it was by accident, ie from what he's heard elsewhere. Hence my assertion that he's a tit, which I stand by.
