Hey gents,
A friend and I are making a trip over to take in the Everton vs Stoke game on Oct 30th. We are in Canada so it's a bit of a road trip to say the least.
We leave Thursday night, fly overnight and land in Manchester City around 8am on Friday morn. We then head to Liverpool, drop our stuff off at the hotel and then take in Liverpool for the day.
Saturday we take in the Stoke game at Goodison. Take in the pubs after the game and enjoy the night.
Sunday we plan to get up early and head back to Manchester City, drop our stuff at the hotel and then head to Bolton for the Bolton vs Liverpool afternoon match (as Bolton fans of course)
After the game, head back to the hotel, enjoy night in Manchester.
Monday morn, 9am fly back home.
Tuesday. Attempt to get back to work
My friend has been over before. He made it over for Europa home game last year and has been to Liverpool a few times. I haven't been over yet (besides a Wales trip 15 years ago). I'm a new Toffees recruit, being turned on to Everton last year.
So. There are only a couple blanks to fill in that would be great if some one local to the area could help with.
* Getting from Manchester to Liverpool. Train makes sense Friday morn? We aren't in a rush. More time we can spend in Liverpool the better though.
* Things to do Friday aft/night? We're both beer drinkers and are looking forward to drinking real ales.
* Saturday. Any tips for game day? Where to grab a pint / food before the game etc. How about after the game?
* Getting from Liverpool to Manchester. Sunday we will be tight on time as we need to get back to Manchester to drop our stuff off at a hotel and then boot it to Bolton for gametime. Does the train make sense here? Should we book a drive for part or all of it to make sure we don't lose time?
* Any other tips?
I'm 34 and my buddy is 49. No real reason to mention it other than it might factor in to what to do on Friday / at night etc. Safe to say dance clubs would be out hahaha
thanks.
