A lack of pace never hampered Beckham did it? Its just a case of improving your positioning and learning to get that extra half a a yard to cross the ball. A loan would do him the world of good, even if its just for a month or so

Exactly, I was thinking of John Robertson, my dad always said he couldn't beat a tortoise over ten yards but he was the fastest man in the world over 1.

A good crosser of the ball only needs to be fast over a small distance and if you're good at reading the game you can get that. Still don't think Gueye will make it the premier league but he had a terrific game yesterday.

Good points these. Positioning is vital.

where did Mirallas play?

To be honest he was pretty fluid and never stopped running (he obviously tired mid way through the 2nd half)

He popped up wide right, left and down the middle as well as getting back and making some tackles (moyes obviously has a word already)

He showed some very great skill and a few step overs even Neville would have been proud of. I know is way only against Orient but he couldn't have done much more (apart from get a hat trick as I had a bet at 20-1!)

I for one think he will get us a few penalties this season as he likes to run to the back line.

The signs are good mate lets hope he can kick on against better teams.

Watched the 20 minute highlights and I've got to say Gueye and Coleman were bloody brilliant.

Maggy pulled off loads of little first time flick pass things which were highly effective in the buildup play to a few goals and chances. Coleman could and should have had a hat-trick of assists. I noticed when he got into the box he had his head up all the time and then put in some lovely crosses and passes. Previously he'd just run in there with his head down and hope his speed and unpredictability would be enough, but seeing him play intelligently is very promising. He skinned their fullback numerous times and his link up play with Naismith was great. Come on Davey lid, give him a chance at RB.

Good shout on Gueye. I'm not his biggest fan but he seems to have shed a few pound and getting about the pitch a bit more.

Interesting season for him.

Gueye was ace in patches, good eye for a pass and seemed to swap quite a bit between the left and centre with mirallas, always enjoy watching him run, looks like the fat kid at the back of cross-country in p.e.
