Player Valuation: £70m
Michael J Jones from Chester who was in charge of "the beachball" game will officiate this fixture assisted by Stephen Child and Andy Garratt. Mr Lee Probert will be the 4th official. To date this season Mike Jones has officiated 29 games issuing 104 yellow and 6 red cards. It will be his first visit to Goodison this season but has currently taken charge of two of our games this season, our defeat coincidentally at Aston Villa and our draw at Tottenham. I wonder how many refs have officiated the same fixture in the same season home and away?

He's not a familar name ref to me but maybe thats just me,but he has been the ref quite a few times in the prem league games and given a few cards as you say

I wonder why Mark Halsey has been overlooked to referee at Goodison this season. He said at the beginning of the season that he would love his 1st match back after beating cancer to be here as his last match before treatment was our heavy defeat by Arsenal on the opening game of the previous season. Strange 1 to me

Probably because they think he might favour us more in tackles/give us decisions etc,but he was fair 50/50 in the everton v everton game at goodison and he did say Goodison is his favourite ground

He's a players ref who tells it how it is and tells them to get up when they're rolling round in agony. Top ref.

Halsey told my brother that although he's not officially banned from Everton games but he doesn't think the Fa will ever give him one again due to him being friendly with the supporters and his love for our ground and fans
