Where the flip are the evertontv highlights? I thought they said yesterday on the OS radio coverage that there'd be highlights in the morning.

Well it's gone 3 ffs.

What is Jack Rodwell?

Y'all would be hounding Billy to be boarding the next plane to Russia after a performance (or 10) like that, yet why do we give him the benefit? He's played more games than our Moscow companion in a league/country he's known all his life and yet we ask for more time and patience cause he's younger?

Does Moyes not encourage him? His he believing his own unjust hype? Does he not want to be here? What is it?

I don't care if you're feeling a bit unconfident, you're a professional with more money and security than Soft Mick...I want to see your head up and I want to see you charging upfield, not passing the buck to your teammates and outdoing Arteta in the crab-stakes.

All of the above could be equally directed to Dini, but I want to focus on Jack here; one of the brightest young prospects in English football is rapidly declining at age 20 and I want to fathom out what the problem is, 'cause i'd rather not have him keeping an in form Osman out of the team if the Saha/Cahill front two re-appears.

...and I'd be thoroughly bricking it if Jack was a centre-half like some of you make out, so spare me.

He was probably our best player in the first 20 minutes. Threatened to run the show and kept hitting those raking 30 yard passes out to Coleman. He, like the rest of the team, turned into crab mode when it was obvious we where getting nowhere. The ability is obvious, and his performances against Villa and Wigan have been to a good standard, so I think your being harsh. Not outstanding, but clear improvements on his performances last season. Fellaini was alot worse, despite his goal, as where a few other players.

Bilyaletdinov isn't even comparable, he's an experienced professional with a number of full seasons under his belt, playing week in week out. He's been able to develop his game in a **** League and has failed to hack it here, simple as really. Rodwell looks like an experienced campaigner in comparison, and that's saying something really.

It's difficult to tell what type of player Royston Drenthe is on his displays so far, but he looked better when he switched to right in the second half. Used the ball more intelligently, his movement was better off the line and he ran at West Brom on a few occasions. He looked a little predictable on his natural side, but that could just be down to sharpness. He's going to need a few starts to get up to speed.

The subs changed the game for us. Vellios held the ball up much better than Denis and showed some good movement coming towards the ball and running in behind. He's a presence and he moves well for a player of his size and style. It'd be interesting to see more of him, he's definitely got something to offer this team. Magaye Gueye was also very positive down the left when he came on.

You can tell Royce grew up playing voetbal at street level can't you, he seems to like a bit of rough and tumble. I still think we'll see him figure mainly on the left, but it's very useful having a player that can go either way and his right foot is solid enough.

We're going to need to see a change in how we play, with the players we've got now there's no point trying to get back to the controlled passing style of 08/09, it's not going to happen. Ideally what we'd like to do with these players is play fast, direct football with the majority of our goals coming from 1v1s or byline cutbacks. It'll be interesting to see if there's any difference in what we try to do with the ball.

Agreed, I've been really impressed by his attitude. He covers alot of ground at pace and doesn't mind getting stuck in. He's played the majority of his career on the left, so I wouldn't disagree with you, as I said, he looks rusty, and will need a good few games before we can properly judge him and his style.

He does look a bit different to what I imagined though. More of a midfielder with the added bonus of pace than a true winger. He came towards ball alot and didn't make many direct runs in behind the opposition fullback. He's been a bit hit and miss when he's attempted to carry the ball but I've also seen some intelligent distribution and good technique. Two fizzing passes out to Baines in particular have caught the eye. Releasing the ball quickly and at pace from a central position. You can tell by the ways he rests his foot on the top of the ball when he's controlling it really, he's confident in his ability, and obviously has something about him.

He's an interesting player, I look forward to seeing more of him.

I thought we first played decent enough footie for most of it, then collapsing and getting nervous. Anyway a result is a result and we had a strong, but not first team so will be interesting to see how the next five games pan out.

The highlights are finally up on evertontv!! 8 minutes worth instead of the 60 seconds circulating the net.

I don't know what took them so long, mind.
