Same for me Donald. 14 and on the lash.thinking I was the bees knees.3 visits to dat London in the space of a couple of months for this and the 2 finals.happy days mate
Unbelievable, literally unbelievable days. Seems like another life time. My lad is that age now and it's horrible he wont see great times again, he really wont!. After the Chelsea final on the way home I was telling him not to be arsed as success comes in cycles and its around the corner and that! but not a chance will we ever dominate again like we did then. As I say horrible.

I thought this was a match preview at first. These videos are truly entertaining but I need chicos words of encouragement to get my day off on the right foot.

Was there anything more depressing than those goalposts / nets at the old dell?

Must have been very unsatisfying scoring a rasper and instead of seeing the net bulging or hearing that unique sound of a ball hitting the net, it simply bounced back out of those shallow miserable boxes...

All those wonder goals Le Tissier scored would've been so much better in a regular set of goals...

It is hard to say at times but honestly mate if in the mid 70s even in the first couple of years of HK in the early 80s someone had said that we would be so ace just a few years later most of us would have laughed. It was all closer to an era of earlier greatness I agree but we were rubbish and heartbreaking chokers for years.
That said it is obviously a tall order as things stand but Man City were in 3rd tier not so long ago so don't give up completely. Things can change for the better.

Spot on mate.i was there v Coventry when the leaflets came out calling for howard kendalls head with 13,000 others.the odds on us winning the league the next year must have been a thousand to one so your right.things can change very quickly. Surely the law of averages means a cup is just round the corner

I was at the 8-0 game in the early 70's with my dad in the Goodison Road paddock, season ticket holder, now the Family Enclosure. Great performance by the Blues in awful weather, snow, hail, wind. Same score tomorrow will do fine, Blues.

You're not easily pleased - og in the 96 th. minute will do me.

This make me feel old, i was a teenager just about young enough to justify having a name on the back of my shirt that name was Speed i was gutted when he left. Great memories

As well as we played that day, how bad was Chris woods in goal. Commentator summed it up mid way through the second half when he said "Christ woods has finally made a save" Last game I went to with my late father, brought back memories.
