Match Thread Everton v Mansfield Town. Wed, 27 Aug 19:45

Sell out crowd, first game under lights. Gonna be great.

Expecting a changed side.

Don't want to see Ndiaye, prefer he rest that knee and wouldn't be disappointed if Grealish is on the bench. Keep him fresh for Saturday.

Let McNeil prove his worth, maybe try two up top with Barry and Beto.

At the back, anybody with their own boots and a pulse I guess.

Saw on FB that Mansfield are taking a big following “because it’s a new stadium.” Funny thing is, we’ve never actually played them in a competitive fixture, despite Mansfield being in the Football League since the 1920s.

Got me wondering – how many other “classic” league clubs have we still never faced?

Travers

Coleman
Tarkowski
Keane
Aznou

Despite the forwards and midfield having players who were playing top half football as soon as Moyes came in we lose and are out of the League Cup in the second round again.

Everyone goes ballistic
Beto in goal and Travers up top.

Just crazy enough to work. I’m in.

Rochdale! They are out of football league for few years now, but were ever present for over 100 years.

Almost a night game, should be dusk when the second half gets underway. Will hopefully be warm and pleasant. Be a very different experience and the stadium will never look shinier or newer glittering in the lights against the backdrop of the city and the river.

If you are lucky enough to go, get your pics, but if you could get the special views only your seats/sides of the ground offer that'd be marvellous.

Learning what parts of the ground offer will help future blues when they're lucky enough to go along.

Their fans are proper EDL knuckle draggers, remember them trashing York City centre a while back.

Throw back to the 80’s.

Play a full strength team. If we don’t try and win the cups then there is no point of us as a club.

Get up early and rest in the second half if you can. About time we won this cup. And it’ll be my first game at the ground.
It’s Mansfield mate. We can show ambition to win a cup and not obliterate our already tiny squad as a display of strength.
