I wanted England to win yesterday , was over it by 10pm when they lost, I’m still seething that lampard had time to slip get himself up and put a weak shot in to the top corner in 2009 though.

I would never prefer England to win something over Everton and I’d even say if I was offered the choice of England winning the World Cup but Liverpool also won a trophy that season I’d knock it back.
I love Everton more than I love England and I hate Liverpool more than I love England.

I feel more strongly about Everton which, in turn, actually makes England a far nicer watch. I can watch England lose a major tournament final, go “ah well” and turn the TV off, but Everton make my head fall off most weeks and put me in a foul mood for at least a day.
