Match Thread Everton v Brighton. Sun Aug 24th. 2pm

blue to the bone

Player Valuation: £80m
So the time has finally come . Our first league game at the new stadium. Call it what ye like but its going to a special occasion.
Brighton are the visitors a side who on their day can be very good indeed.
Last nights defeat sees this fine forum a little bit perplexed. We need signings and injuries to heal up pretty fast .
But still dont let it take away from this historic event . It's been a long time coming after many false dawns.
Lets start it with a win .
UTFT.

Desperate for Myko to be fit so we can have something that resembles a somewhat functioning back line. If he is this is what I'd go with:

Pickford
Garner - O'Brien - Tarkowski - Mykolenko
Gana - KDH
McNeil - Grealish - Ndiaye
Beto

….i’d imagine he won’t change two positions when one will do. Keane was fine last night, I’d be surprised if he’s dropped unless a conventional RB is purchased in the next few days.

How about we go into this one absolutely buzzing to be kicking off in our brilliant new stadium, not moaning because we haven't signed enough players yet?

Can practically hear the half time boos from some already, it's embarrassing.

Be interesting to see how the atmosphere transfers. It's been woeful at Goodison for a long time now apart from the odd do or die relegation games.

I'd actually take the boos over the complete silence our fans usually sit in. At least it shows the supporters are bothered by the crap that has been served up.
