Everton Under16s have been participating in a mini tournament in South Africa this week and have been doing quite well.
After a 1-1 draw on Monday they have followed it up with a 5-0 win on Tuesday and a 4-0 win today putting them top of their group and lining up a semi final on Friday.
I havent heard of this Future Champions thing before, it looks like its only been running since 2009 but think it is great for the younger lads to get experience playing brazillian/portugese teams etc.

Good Luck - COYB's

We played in it in Brazil either last year or the year before.

Beat Corinthians but lost to Athletico Minero (who won it) in the semis

It's a mix of the U16 team and U15 team, so Year 11 and Year 10 schoolboys. The Year 10's are supposed to be one of the best 'batches' that the club have had in a while.

Year 10 lads like Michael Donahue (winger) Liam Walsh (centremid) and Kieran Dowell (centremid) have all been to England camps and impressed, haven't seen a lot of them myself but they were unbeaten for a while with Everton, only losing recently.

Some of the Year 11's will finish school in the summer and join Everton full time; Aidan Graham, Charley Edge, Joe Williams,Calum Dyson, Reece McNally, Arlen Birch. Edge and Graham have played for Wales U17s.

Atletico Miniero will be a real test, their squad is actually U17 players afaik, so bigger and stronger lads!

the future's bright

the future's blue.

having great youngsters coming through is paramount to a club with our finances, gladly it seems that we have quite a few names cropping up as potential first teamers, let's hope the majority of them make it.

Hi Connor x

Boss thinking I've played with half these lads, and against them. Regret not sticking with the academy I was at, the atmosphere in some is awful though, 'clicky' comes to mind.

Athletico Mineiro in the semi final on Friday. 4pm (can only assume thats local time) and its on' SuperSPort4'

That's great to know. Three of the yr11's have already established themselves in the u18s this season, so it's not even the strongest team with have out there (Jonjoe Kenny, Ryan Ledson & Harry Charsley).
