Everton to fight for a Premier-League place this season?

Who are the teams who could realistically finish above us?

I'd say all of the following are capable of finishing above us considering the combined strength of the squads and/or the ability of their managers:

Man U
Liverpool
Chelsea
Arsenal
Aston Villa
Tottenham
Manchester City

Additionally, I would say that if we have a "poor" season (by recent standards), the following teams would have a realistic chance of finishing above us:


West Ham
Fulham


So, worst case scenario, if we fail to strengthen and then go on to have a woeful season, we'd finish 10th. A good season 5-6th again. I really can't see us breaking the top 4 this season, though, as (imo) we have taken a step back by standing still.

Agree with most, but I'm not sure Villa will finish above us unless they get some good transfers in. They have lost some very influential players this summer.

Without signing players and loosing many to injuries I can see Everton fighting to stay up this season.
