It's a line (as in only our club could do this..) that will get used by about 88 clubs in the English Football League though when a set of fans want to feel sorry for themselves. We're rightly disgusted at what is going on at the moment, given the money spent and our 7th placed finish, but we're not the only ones. Bet loads said 'only Everton' or 'Everton that' after the Bournemouth and Chelsea capitulations under Martinez. Well West Ham did it on Saturday, giving up a 2 goal lead and conceding an equaliser in the 97th minute. Their fans will feel very similar I imagine. Got their new Stadium, had a great season, and are now going through similar to what we did in Martinez' final 2 seasons.

You've got clubs like Sunderland and Villa rotting in the Championship, and Leicester fans will have also been expecting to cement themselves as a 7th-10th placed team after their title win and yet haven't been able to do it either.

Even Chelsea are a yo-yo team. Win the league one season, came 10th the next. Won it last season, and are already 9 points behind City.

What I'd give to be a yoyo team like Chelsea! We yoyo from 7th to championship....

Hahaha imagine being a yo-yo team like Chelsea, win the league, come 10th, win the league, sit in 4th spot, must be crap being a Chelsea supporter.

We haven't been down at that level since 1954 so I think people are getting a bit carried away too soon given there has only been 10 games of the league season gone. That's not to say we won't be in a relegation fight, but there is a long way to go yet.

Also, the reality is we "yo-yo'd" from 7th to 11th and as disappointing as it was, it's been way worse at other clubs. Leeds went from 5th in 2002 to relegation 2 seasons later, so I think i'd rather be in our position than some others.

It's only really a select few clubs like Man United, Spurs and Arsenal in recent years that haven't had massively up and down seasons. Bet the RS weren't too happy after being a slip away from the title one year to getting hammered 6-1 away at Stoke, and then finishing 8th 2 seasons after.

I'm not saying it's crap being a Chelsea fan, just pointing out that we're not the only club that goes through tough times and some of our supporters are very wrapped up in this 'hard done to' mentality. Similar sized clubs like Villa and Newcastle have been relegated recently. I bet a Leeds, Sunderland or Villa fan would laugh at us for complaining. Leeds have won a title more recently than us. So have Blackburn and they're now in League 1.

Not sure I can pick any positives out of what you are saying here...

I think you're taking the post how you want to take it by suggesting that i'm saying it's hard winning 2 league titles in 3 seasons, when i'm not. My point is that loads of clubs are capable of having a massive fall from one season to the next. Do you think Chelsea fans were happy about going from being the Champions to 10th in the league?
