Zezti

Player Valuation: £70m
Which is actually the 5th lowest in the league. Hull, Middlesbrough, Burnley and Swansea are the only clubs to spend less. Even Newcastle spend twice what we do.

That still seems a huge amount. Wasn't there a thread not too long ago asking if agents were leeches?

I'll be honest I'd much rather see £10m in that column and two of our targets arrive in the summer , I'm sorry i realise agents are unpopular but I would .

I actually wouldn't have been surprised if a bit of movement in that direction could have seen a deal or two over the line and I'm Not really too concerned if a bloke I've never heard of buys a new house on the back of it.

How do you get into this line of work as its extremely lucrative, for what is basically introducing the dog to the bitch .....

I remember in the old days, agents used to work for the players and it was them that paid them. I still don't understand why clubs now pay them

Well seeing as we haven't signed many players then it isn't a surprise we haven't spent much on agents fees.

Actors have to pay their agents fees themselves so why not footballers? I've never understood this.

Palace missed out on signing Tim Cahill from Millwall as they refused to pay his agents fees. I suspect Simon Jordan regretted that one like.

Exactly. Its like any form of recruitment. Its based on a percentage of the fee and salary in some cases over the length of the contract. They have a bad reputation mostly due to the likes of Paul Stretford but they essentially do a good job for their clients which also include clubs from time to time.
