There's no other thread dealing with this that I can find, so I thought I'd start this.
Who are the (tv, radio, press) reporters who now or in the past have commented on Everton that evoke a strong reaction?
The likes of Elton Welsby from days of yore on the box and Brian Moore always were respectful of us IIRC. Not sure of Motson, heard he liked us but I think he's a red (or red sympathising pinko). 'kin Alan Parry is a dyed in the wool red and gives us nothing more than a pat on the head if we're lucky (and should never be able to commentate one of our games) and Tyler is an obvious Kopite. Matt Smith is another Kopite though and he's always been ok with us. Out of the radio pack I always felt Jimmy Armfield loved us - as did Stuart Hall, but the least said about that feller the better! Obviously Alan Green is the devil incarnate and cant stand us. On the local side we have Mike Hughes is a massive blue (although his ecstatic screams when that lot score would lead you to think otherwise). Ian Kennedy is a Kopite, absolutely no question and quite snide about Everton on the sly in a patronising way...as is that other feller who covers our games Mike(?) Jones. The press pack have covered Everton favourably for years - for Kenwright's sake more than anything else - so the Viners and Wilson's have been favourable. That tool McNulty is the big standout on the other side of the aisle. Supposedly an Evertonian but his record at covering us is a disgrace and his hounding of Joe Royle repugnant. The local lads at the Echo have been hopeless in objectively covering the club and are a joke. I really cant find a good word to say anything about them - especially the present and ex-senior staffers.
