We need to do as much as possible to make the bridge from reserves to first team football as tight as possible, in terms of quality and what is expected from young boys who will become men and role models to younger children. How we do that is up for widespread discussion, the media in my eyes also need to lay off the kids, always looking to publish any slight mistake they make or at the other end of the spectrum, they hype players up well before they achieve anything, see wilshere and barkley as two examples. Then when a player does deserve credit such as stones they cant help but push them onto chelsea or citys bench.

Lots of thinking to be done.

Agree with all of that, but we are in a far better position than LFC, Man Utd and Man City at the moment, in terms of our great Under 18s set up.

I think its good for the Development squad, gets them some more games, perhaps against experienced teams from the lower league. As the League season is only 22 games, I think they need to be creative in getting some more games for the U21 side, as most of the players are no where near playing for the first team.

They could probably do with like an u21 group stage and knock out competition, maybe with the; Welsh, Scottish and Irish teams, so they are playing against some different teams
