Everton Punch Above Weight Says Alan Hansen

The man is right with what he says, just because he's a ex rs it shouldn't be brushed aside

We have massively punched above our weight for years with what we have spent. Our net spend is that of a championship club!

The funny flip side of it is that we have massively punched below our weight for years in terms of the size of club we are!

If Moyes could of had 20M this summer I think we could of been looking at 4th this year, such a shame!

I read and agreed with all that , THEN I realised who said it and changed my mind ......as you do

I may be in the wrong generation here, but Hansen = dead ringer for the original Action Man - scar on the forehead an' all!

I find it hard to take anything seriously from someone with the looks and personality of a feckin doll, but for me the stand-out comment is:

"If Everton's existence was simply a dull flatlining then there would be problems, but he has got a team that can be a match for pretty well everyone on their day."

This a thousand times - it's the cause of all our hope and frustration lids...

Can't disagree with a lot he has said but wasn't he the one who said you don't win anything with young players? Haven't we got a lot of young players coming through. Maybe it's our time to do something let's be positive we'll beat city tomorrow and then who knows.

He's a ****, but has some good points there...

although saying we punch above our weight is plain stupid...if we haven't made our traditional slow starts in the past few seasons we would have been in the top 5...this season the performances were not quite there but we've got some results...let's hope we continue to grind out some positive results until Moyes settles them all in and the lads gather some form and momentum...

I think that Moyes is creatin cash of championship players, I think the Beckford deal was a struck of genius, he simply wasn't good enough.. Give Beckford some premiership games and sell him at a profit. I personally think that Arteta wasn't that big of a loss, he was injured a lot and he was a bit hot head he got some cards. We don't need more injured players. I think that if moyes get the squad in good shape and work with the injury problems then Everton will for sure compete for an European league position
