Everton, protests and a way forward

Four things:

  • Dave Kelly did not show any video to Kirkby residents,it was his predecessor as KEIOC Chair
  • The BU dont argue that the banks would or should put pressure on the club to sell - that isn't the hoped for conclusion to their protests
  • The solution suggested in this piece has been tried before: Trevor Birch was appointed and then sacked for putting forward solutions to the ownership issue
  • I wouldn't let Terry Leahy anywhere near Everton after trying to sell its future down the road to his supermarket and coming close to putting the final nail in our coffin

Are you saying there are two Dave Kelly's, and no, the article doesn't say the video was shown.

The BU have not explained the actual mechanism of how this "independant, autonomous" board would come into being. It is reasonable to assume that the model they are using is the Broughton option which the article shows why it worked for the rs and not for us.

You mean proposed before as the only person appointed to sell the club has been Keith Harris, who might as well double as keith lemon. He's that good.

Never expected Leahy to be a popular choice, the name was used to show that there are people around who could do that type of job. Bill can talk lyrically about the club, he can mount a theatrical production, but high finance is not and never will be his field.

Other than that, hope you liked it.

The Dave Kelly stuff is ridiculous. It was Alfie Hincks with the video stuff, hje then apologised and resigned. On the other stuff: assume away...as is your way.

Overall I'm surprised by this piece. If you're saying that's LCAB then it looks like he's saying that concerned supporters should belt up and leave it to the 'experts'.

EDIT: apologies to LCAB - just seen who the author was.
