Everton players you've had an inexplicable hatred of

McGeady - possibly the most selfish git I've ever had the misfortune to witness playing. At least Del justified it and eventually figured out when to draw the line.

Andy VDM - Useless pish artist. Terrible example to youngsters.

Pistone - Probably get slated but for me he could have done more and spent far too much time injured

Billy Kenny - For being such a dumb tvvat

absolutely with you on Pistone. One of our worst LBs in our history.

I never hate anyone who plays for Everton but there are definitely ones who would annoy or I maybe may take a dislike too. Thise who come in just to get paid and live off the back of their once-high reputation, signed as 'marquee-signings' (Gazza, Ginola) or those who think they are god's gift for no reason (Nyarko, Dacourt) also rank highly.

Mark Hughes definitely. As other posters have stated, you never felt he was one of us when he 'played' for us and he had this attitude about him which couldn't endear him to anyone. The media made a big deal about him signing for us, not us signing him, like he was doing us a favour. That should have been a clue!

You can do an interesting comparison between him and Steve Watson. A player who was Newcastle through and through, never highly-rated by most of our fans and probably a fair bit of dislike too when first signed. But the guy had a good attitude, he tried, kept going, turned out more than decent and actually scored goals for us (even though he was a right-back and we had to use him as an emergency striker!). Anyone remember his hat-trick against Leeds?

Our goalkeepers have been far from fantastic. Hard to know who was worse, Richard Wright or Steve Simonsen, in equal measure annoying.

Iain Turner p*ss*d me off. Getting sent-off nine minutes into your Premier League debut by doing the old Southall trick of handling the ball outside the box. At least Nev used to try and snidely push it away with his hand thinking the ref might not see (usually against QPR at Loftus Road for some reason!), Turner actually caught the 'eff*n thing!

Others I'd be more perplexed and annoyed at the management, wondering why they signed such drivel:

Danny Williamson
Terry Phelan
John Oster
Gareth Farrelly
John O'Kane
Peter Degn
Tony Thomas

Our squad around 1996-97 towards the millenium did feature some desperate players, which suited our form (mostly) at the time.

Totally agree with these too. Seen McGeady play for years, long before he signed for us and was hopeless then. It was only that he was in the Scottish Premier League that made him look good.

VDM is the marquee type, full of himself and yet little to actually show.

You covered the final one.

Claus Thomsen, if i saw him tonight, i would still like to knock him out.
Fellaini as well, was a fraud for most of his time at Everton.
