I'm pretty sure were all fed up with the dry Evertonian transfer window during this summer..so lets discussing something else.

Describe your favorite traits/characteristics of the Everton Squad

Howard: Consistent

He is a solid keeper that steps up whenever we are under pressure

Neville: Experience

Not just anybody plays for Man U and well although we all think he lacks skill and a smart footballer's mind. I think he has plenty of experience and leadership skills.

Lescott: Strength/Eye for Goal

Most CB's in the premier league are big but none of them can score goal's like our own lescott.

Yobo: Confidence on the ball

Everyone mentions that he loves to take players on and when he does he has tricks up his sleeves. The only time I've ever seen this boy nervous is when he played against Fiorentina in their home. (bad memories :( )

Jagielka: Courage

Being a defender means having a lot of responsibility but I also think it requires alot of courage. Ive never seen Jagielka scared of blocking a really powerful shot or a dangerous cross.

Baines: Attacking Mindset

There are two types of Full backs; Ones that attack and those that prefer to stay back and pass to the wingers. Thankfully Baines has the attacking mindset of any other midfielder or striker on the pitch. I also admire his dribbling skills

Valente: Professionalism

He has won a Champions league and has had played key roles in the Portugal squad for the World Cup in 2006.

Hibbert: Natural Defender

Although is is not as athletic as the rest of the squad his natural defending skills really do shine when he is playing at his best.

Arteta: Skills/Playmaker

He is the Cristiano Ronaldo of our team, nuff' said

Cahill: Heading in goals

I don't care if thats the only way he scores goal but his a very important player to our squad.

Osman: Alacrity

He always gives it his all when he plays for all and is full of enthusiasm

Piennar: Slick moves/Passing

A very creative player that knows how to get things done when he has the ball

Rodwell: Athleticism

Being that his only 17 and able to perform against major Premier League sides I think he is going to shine.

Yakubu: Strength/Finishing

One of the smoothest finishers Ive ever seen for his size.

Anichebe
: Determination

Whenever he comes from the bench his main are incentives are to score all the time.

Vaughan: Potential

Im not sure if thats a trait or characteristic but he sure does have alot of it.
and the man you have all been waiting for

Van der Meyden
: Rabonas (when he played for Inter)

Yea...search them up in youtube.

Good post mate. Looking for the positives in each player there. Good thing to do rather than whine on about them and the current state.

Just what the forum needs right now (y)

yakubu - bloody mindedness
gravesen - crackers
osman - sneaky
arteta - graceful

–noun 1. cheerful readiness, promptness, or willingness: We accepted the invitation with alacrity.
2. liveliness; briskness.

New word for me mates!

Howard: Support / sturdiness

Lescott: Class (no one specific adjective could cover him)

Neville: Leadership

Yobo: consistency (every minute of every game for a season!)

Jags: Courage

Hibbo: Positioning / defensive instinct (gotta agree with the OP on this one, he's not the most skilled player out there, but he does his job of holding them up and it prevents goals, whether we see it or not)

Baines: don't really rate him as i don't think he's proven himself

Arteta: Playmaker

Cahill: Passion / goals

Osman: Unsung hero (so few non-blues recognize just how good of a player he is)

Pienaar: Backheels (atleast twice a game, and we often get goals off them so i won't complain)

Yakubu: Composure (doesn't choke and will always finish the easy ball, which so few people do these days)

Vaughan: Energy (chases down every ball)

Anichebe: Potential (he's improving in leaps and bounds, its only going to get better)

I think last season showed the players we have are ok, it's just the lack of numbers rather than the quality, most of our players are as good as you can get outside the so called top 4, some of em are as good if not better, a couple of firstteam quality midfieilders and a couple of back up players and it'll all look a lot better!................honest

COYB!:)

Mark Lawrenson is a big fan and has tipped him for an England call up on several occasions.
Never thought much of Lawrenson as a player or as a pundit before hearing him talking about Ossie two seasons back.
