My old man, never shows his emotion at matches, happy when we win dismissive when we lose, he bollocked me big time time after the Old Trafford replay against Villa in 77! Said if I cried again wouldn't take me lol! Dont get me wrong he felt it just like we all do.

In 84 though against Watford, we lost his Mum, my Nan few weeks earlier, cried like a baby both of us during Abide with Me and then again at the final whistle, proper bonding session, we still go together, taking him West Ham game in October but hes getting on a bit, so not a frequent visitor these days, we have had plenty to laugh and cry at thanks to the Toffees but so glad that him and my Grandad introduced me to the love affair that is Everton!

Jimmy Husband cost us in that 68 final. Took one off Balls head and took one all around the world before putting it over the bar with the goal at his mercy

..Angel Di Maria ran amock that evening. I think Hibbert played CB but my memory is useless. I can remember, though, having lots to drink in and around that central square in Lisbon.

We went back again in the February v Sporting....only to get beat 3-0 this time. Our record in Portugal that campaign was to score none and concede 8.
