Finally decided to join the forum. I have only been watching EPL soccer for the past few years, but have always liked Everton as they seem to have a strong tie with the US. Also, my good friend is a huge Liverpool fan so rooting for the team next door seemed almost perfect.

Anyways, I look forward to chatting it up with fellow Evertonians.

Welcome. Watching a game at Goodison might not be as exciting as a June double-header at the Trop, but hope you get the chance some day.

This man is high, don't listen to him @FloridaToffee ...

Welcome to the asylum, mate. I'm in Jax. Looking forward to exchanging Rowdies/ Armada smack. We can start a NASL thread and taunt Chico from afar. Stick around, and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Just in Tampa a few weeks ago with my mate Ronnie whose Mom is from West Tampa. He took me on his "stations of the fork" and I never got a chance to finish up the tour here for fans of USA cuisine. Alessi's, Cacciatore's meat market, la Terasita, La Segunda Central, you get the picture... See the American Food thread. Got out to Ted Peters too and it was awesome, as usual. They don't eat pineapple on pizza in West Tampa, either. Just some friendly advice.

Stick around.

I've been to Goodison, and I've been to the Trop. Hard to believe they're on the same planet, really. Goodison is entirely the more genuine and authentic experience. Oh, and thanks for Joe, you TBRays. I'm also a Cubs fan looking forward to a season for the first time since I got pubes, it seems. No Cubs fans in Tampa, of course (coughs).

I can help with a few...

Jax = Jacksonville, Florida

Stations of the fork = pub crawl but with food and not necessarily in one night

Rowdies/ Armada smack = lower league opposing football teams banter

you TBRays. I'm also a Cubs fan = baseball

Well done.

You share the affliction? Plus, the gingerness.

It must be a great burden. This explains a lot. See you at Murphy's next time we're both there. I'll buy you a shot and a beer.

Thanks guys for the kind words. I messed around and thought I wanted to be a Tottenham fan (when they signed Dempsey), but I realized quickly that they are one miserable group of supporters. I quickly hopped back onto the Everton wagon.

After the whole Tottenham experience, I realized it is silly to root for a club because of a player. I just like the fact that Everton has always been open to 'deserving' American players playing in their squad. Granted, Timmy is not of those Americans right now. That guy seems to be lost on the pitch ever since the WC.

It is well known here, stateside, that Everton supporters are a nice and very loyal bunch. Other EPL teams could use a lesson or two from them in that regard.
