Hi

My name is Mark Ring; I am 21-year-old student from Manchester Metropolitan University. I am currently undergoing some independent research into the issue of ‘Safe Standing’ at football stadiums in the North West of England and the issues that affect the supporters in regards to this campaign.

I have put together a questionnaire, which will only take about 2 minutes. The link is:

Hope you can help!

I filled it out. I have a fairly neutral view on terracing. My dad says that looking back it was a disaister waiting to happen, and it was **** if you were short (which me and him are) anyway like.

I think standing is a great idea.

With the technology available these days it can be done.

Look at Germany. It's been a success as far as I know.

Stood at the Peterborough, Luton Town and Brentford away League Cup matches in the past few years.

Standing really isn't all that. Time has moved on. Culture has moved on.

Clubs in the Premiership will never ever approve it, simply because they can make more money through selling seats than they can through selling standing places. Germany does it, but they have a different culture, and never had a Heysel or a Hillsborough. Their league also isn't as lucrative as the Premier League is.

This is before the emotional aspects of the topic get discussed. I severely doubt Everton will ever reintroduce standing areas due to Hillsborough being such a local issue.
